PURPOSE
To develop people with Down Syndrome and related intellectual disabilities to become who they were created to be. Being side-lined or marginalised isn’t one of them.
We aim to create an environment in which we will:
-
Embrace, love, engage, build relationship, nurture and encourage.
-
Instill a sense of self-worth and value in each person in our care.
-
Teach people with Down Syndrome in a way that they learn best.
-
Understand the people entrusted to our care.
-
Enlarge each person’s boundaries of possibility.
-
Provide facilities for assisted living and semi-independent living.
Children with an intellectual disability are still children. All have the potential and capacity to learn, even if they learn differently.
If you have a child or a relative with Down Syndrome, or a related intellectual disability, we'd love to connect with you.
If you know of someone who is pregnant and has been advised that their baby might have Down Syndrome, please ask them to contact us. We are able to offer support and counselling, and can assist during the adoption process if they decide not to keep the baby without judging them for their decision. We are a place of safety which cares for newborn babies, and work with Social Services until 'forever families' can be found for them.
